Last Thursday (10th) was my turn on stage to discuss both the Mobile Developer Program and Creating Dynamic Flash Lite 1.1 Applications. Both of my sessions went very well and I had a great audience who initially was quiet but by the end they were clapping and participating more.
It seemed like they really saw the potential and how easy it was to create FL content with Flash. I spent less than 10 minutes creating a new FL app from scratch, testing it, transferring it to my phone and then playing it. Other highlights included the various FL examples I showed, and the mobile experience examples that our XD team has been working on.
In addition to meeting with attendees, I was interviewed by various print media from Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore who were interested in learning more about Flash and mobile devices. Most of the reporters I spoke with had never seen Flash content on a mobile phone and were interested in learning more about the types of content that could be created using Flash, such as applications, screen savers, ringtones and others.
Then on Friday (11th) Greg Rewis and I were interviewed by a regional TV station CNA (Channel News Asia) for their weekly IT segment. Greg discussed the various Macromedia tools and where we're heading in the future and I discussed Flash on mobile and showed some examples of FlashCast and the Flash UI found on the Samsung SCH-S260 handset now available in South Korea.
The news segment is supposed to air on 3/25 in Singapore so if you live in the SE Asia area and receive CNA then make sure to check it out. Once I receive my copy of the show segment I'll be encoding it and making it available here on my site.
Overall I had a fantastic time in Singapore and again I want to say "thanks" to everyone who made it such a success. I'm looking forward to speaking again next year.
