Macromedia Mobile User Groups: Interested?
There's been an increasing amount of interest from developers around the world about creating mobile content for handsets - which is exciting. There are more blogs and sites dedicated to Flash mobile technologies as well as lots of new Flash Lite applications being created by developers.

One of the things that I'm in charge of at Macromedia is ensuring the developer community has the best and most relevant resources available to them. We currently offer CDKs, articles, sample files and other information on our mobile and devices developer center in addition to several forums.

One idea we've discussed is to have local Macromedia Mobile User Groups (MMUG) that provide developers in specific locations to gather and discuss various mobile related topics and technologies. We launched our first one about a month ago in Boston and are currently looking for interest in other cities - any where in the world.

So if you're a mobile developer interested in heading up or participating in a local MMUG then shoot me an email (bperry at macromedia dot com) or leave a comment.

Hi,

I´ve talked to Edward Sulivan about Macromedia Mobile User Groups before and he mentioned Macromedia was planning a model for "Flash Lite UGs". Im already a remote members of Boston MMUG, a great initiative by Alessandro Pace. I´m really looking forward to run a Mobile UG in my city too (Recife, Brazil), and would be thankful if you could send me the info about it´s requirements.

Hello,

i am also remote member of MMUG Boston, and i'd love to get more information about setting up a mobile UG.

Hi Bill,

We're definitely interested in holding mobile-related sessions at the London MMUG (in fact, we already have and having Richard (Leggett) in town helps .)

Feel free to send me info, etc. Ed's got my details.

How about more MMOG's (Macromedia Online Groups), using Breeze for meetings?

I'm a member of the LAFU (Los Angeles), and would see maybe a few people that would be considered the Mobile group within the LAFU, instead of seperate meetings and such, for over here anyway. :)

This will definitely be good for the community. Would love to participate / be involved in one over in Singapore.
