Download Mobile Device Profile Update #5 for Flash Professional 8
You can now download Mobile Device Profile Update #5 for Flash Professional 8 (8.8MB). This is a free update and after downloading the .MXP file you can just double-click the file and it will automatically install the new device profiles into Flash Professional 8 via the Macromedia Extension Manager.

There are 29 new devices (14 Nokia, 11 Sony Ericsson, and 4 BREW) as well as some minor updates to 23 existing devices.

Remember that these mobile device profile updates are not cumulative, so make sure you install updates #1 through #4 first (in that order) and then #5.

I after 2 days of going round in circles on the web trying to establish if the sony p990i can play flash, I discover it can't, its very misleading as on the adobe site it lists the p990i as supporting flash lite 1.1, although it isn't preinstalled... also there are templates of the P990i in the flash plugin, so what is happening here, did flashlite 1.1 ever work on the P990i...

Can anybody clarify this please

Hi Jason - the SE P990i does not have FL pre-installed, however it is a device that developers can use for testing their FL content on.

We're working on updating our supported devices page to make it more clear which devices have FL pre-installed and accessible to developers and others that are closed.

If I have a mobile where FL isn't preinstalled, can I download it to that phone and thus enable playing of flash?

Yes you can as long as the device you're downloading the FL player to supports FL.

please clarify whether p990i can play flash file. if it does, can you please tell me where from can i download flash lite for p990i. it would have been great if you can specify the URL..

The Sony Ericsson P990i was a device that supported a developer version of the Flash Lite 1.1 player, however that device never shipped with Flash Lite pre-installed. Considering you are probably developing an application for end users (consumers) to purchase/download and interact with, without the Flash Lite player pre-installed they won't be able to do anything.
