Today we announced a new addition to the Photoshop.com family, Photoshop.com Mobile beta, which is a rich Adobe Flash based mobile application that offers camera phone users an easy way to upload, view, and share photos using their Photoshop.com account. Photoshop.com Mobile runs in the background on the phone and allows consumers to take photos, send messages and run other applications while pictures are being uploaded to their Photoshop.com account. Photoshop.com Mobile is the mobile companion application for the new Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 and Adobe Photoshop.com.One of the reasons for enabling this type of application for Windows Mobile phone users is to allow them to share their photos from their device with family and friends. According to June 08 data from m:metrics, over 83% of smartphones in the U.S. market today have cameras. The Upload and Share feature enables users to also store photos in a private online library or share them in a public album at the same time. Once uploaded, photos automatically sync with Photoshop Elements 7 allowing users to edit them on the desktop and share them with friends and family. It’s worth noting that it’s not necessary for a consumer to have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 – they can just use Adobe Photoshop.com with Adobe Photoshop.com Mobile.

It’s for consumers
What’s interesting about this announcement is it’s for consumers, not developers, meaning that if you have a supported Windows Mobile based device then you will be able to download a beta of Photoshop.com mobile and start using it right away. A consumer oriented mobile application built using Adobe Flash Lite technology that will be available in the U.S. – pretty cool.

Will it work on my device?
The Photoshop.com Mobile beta application is expected to be initially available on six Windows Mobile phones in the U.S. at the end of September 2008. These devices include:
- Samsung Blackjack I
- Samsung Blackjack II
- Motorola MOTO Q 9h
- Motorola MOTO Q Music 9m
- Palm Treo 700 w/wx
- Palm Treo 750

To access Photoshop.com Mobile, customers will be able to sign up for an online Adobe account at Photoshop.com and download the beta application at mobile.photoshop.com in late September. Uploading and viewing photos from a phone can consume a large amount of data and we’re recommending users to consider an unlimited data plan with their carrier or use WiFi when available.
This is big news for Adobe and the mobile team here and we’re very excited about it. Later this week I plan on posting a video of the app running on a supported Windows Mobile device so those of you curious of how it works on the device and syncs with Photoshop.com via the cloud can get a better idea.
Please leave comments if you have any additional questions.

Hey, I came here from webkitchen.be, where I stumbled about this awesome thing, but wonder whether it works with N95 yet and if it´s better to wait a while till it´stable.

Sounds cool Bill! Is it completely build with flash lite technology? Can you give more insight in the development proces? How is uploading images being handled, running in the background, etc?
will it be available for other devices in the future?
Nice Work!
